About Michael Smith

I’m a strategic marketing specialist, writer and copywriter. My experience lies in the critical space where words meet the reader, where trust is formed and loyalty created.

My focus is on the recipient of organisational message and how honesty in that message can create belief, nurture reputation and deliver revenue growth.

​

I have a background in the publishing industry, including as Group Marketing Director at Informa Publishing Group and Marketing Director for Kogan Page.

 

With a specialism in subscriptions marketing gained in professional publishing, peer-reviewed journals and digital products, I have specific expertise in shaping systems, data and content to maximise engagement and performance. These skills have also proved particularly effective when working with membership and charitable bodies.

An honours graduate in History, I hold postgraduate qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and an MA in Medieval Literatures and Languages from the University of York.
